MP tops in SVANidhi

Bhopal, Nov 7 (UNI) Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan expressed satisfaction on Saturday over the fact that the state is numero uno vis-à-vis implementation of the Pradhan Mantri Street Vendor’s AtmaNirbhar Nidhi scheme.
“We shall not rest until the related benefits are extended to every eligible individual. Of the 3.28 lakh applications submitted online, two lakh have been sanctioned by banks and credit extended to 1.37 lakh hawkers. Loans approved in 63,000 more cases should be disbursed without delay,” the senior politician was officially quoted as saying during a review meeting at Mantralaya.

The total number of pedlars in the state stands at approximately five lakh.

“Additionally; 60,233 instances have been ratified thus far under the Chief Minister’s Rural Street Vendor’s Scheme and 39,233 benefitted. There are 8,52,524 targeted beneficiaries,” the veteran leader said.

Bhopal, Nov 7 (UNI) Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan paid glowing tributes on Saturday to Bharat Ratna Chandrasekhara Venkata Raman on the latter’s birth anniversary.
“A thousand salutations to the first Asian honoured with the Nobel in the science sphere for discovering the Raman Effect that made the path smooth for subsequent scientific breakthroughs. A personage of his stature will be remembered by humanity for ages,” the senior politician conveyed via social media.

Accident claims 3

Betul, MP, Nov 7 (UNI) A speeding jeep colliding head on with a motorcycle – in the vicinity of Dabka village – has claimed the lives of three persons who were riding the latter vehicle, law-enforcement authorities said on Saturday.
Last evening’s incident severely injured Modki Iwne (40), Sudhakar Aahke (42) and Gyanrao Uike (55) who were pronounced dead at Athner’s Community Health Centre. The jeep driver fled.

Bhopal, Nov 7 (UNI) The fatality figure owing to the ‘millennium scourge’ mounted to 3,017 on Saturday in Madhya Pradesh where 13 fresh demises were reported even as 865 more sufferers were detected during analysis of 26,776 specimens.
A Health Services Directorate bulletin issued tonight pegged the active cases at 7,736. Bhopal continued to have the dubious distinction of spawning 173 new instances; Indore and Gwalior 81 each; Sagar 36; Ratlam 33; Jabalpur 31; Rewa 23; Vidisha 21; Datia, Shahdol and Balaghat 18 each; Rajgarh 17; Morena and Raisen 16 each; Mandsaur 15; etc.

Woman Naxal shot dead in MP

Bhopal, Nov 7 (UNI) A female Maoist carrying a purse of Rs 8 lakh has been neutralised during an encounter in Balaghat District’s Malkhedi village, sources at Madhya Pradesh Police Headquarters disclosed on Saturday.
Following a tip-off, police and Hawk Force personnel were dispatched late Friday to the hamlet where approximately a dozen rebels were present. On spotting the law-enforcement team, the ultras opened fire. Retaliatory action resulted in the outlaws’ fleeing under cover of darkness, some of them in injured condition.
