Kaizer Chiefs failed to turn around a three-goal deficit as Orlando Pirates eased their way into the MTN8 final on Sunday at FNB Stadium.

The Buccaneers claimed a 3-0 victory last weekend in the semi-final first leg with Amakhosi head coach Gavin Hunt hoping for a miracle in the second leg.
However, it was not meant to be as the Sea Robbers claimed a 2-0 (5-0 aggregate) victory courtesy of Fortune Makaringe and Linda Mntambo
Earlier in the week, Pirates coach Josef Zinnbauer travelled back home to Germany after his son was involved in a car accident. He returned to South Africa less than 10 hours before kick-off to be in the Pirates dugout.
And his presence in the technical area seemed to have done the trick for the Soweto giants despite the slow start in the first half.
Both sides wary of conceding a goal early in a match that many felt was over before it started.
The Buccaneers held a defensive line from deep in their own half with hopes of catching Chiefs on the counterattack.
Chiefs would get a taste of Pirates' offence as Deon Hotto found some space on the right flank and made his way into the penalty area only for Daniel Cardoso to put in a heroic tackle to clear the danger.
On the half-hour mark, Reeve Frosler picked up a knee injury which looks like he will also miss the chance to join the rest of the Bafana Bafana players on Monday ahead of the FIFA international break. He was replaced by Siphelele Ntshangase as Hunt opted to shift Njabulo Blom to right-back with the substitute playing in his preferred midfield role.
Chiefs were unable to threaten the Buccaneers goal in the first forty-five minutes as the teams headed towards the tunnel with the scoreline still goalless.
Within the first 10 minutes of the second stanza, the Chiefs players began to get impatient as Eric Mathoho and Yagan Sasman picked up yellow cards for their challenges on Vincent Pule and Hotto, respectively.
Pirates soon put the match to bed as Hotto forced a save from Daniel Akpeyi at the end of a marauding run. The goalkeeper parried the effort into the path of Makaringe, who makes the most of the opportunity, tapping into an empty net.
Another goal followed on the 80th minute as Amakhosi forced more players into the Pirates half.
The Sea Robbers pounced on a counterattack as Zakhele Lepasa passed the ball to Hotto, who played in Linda 'Figo' Mntambo. The substitute made no mistake as he rattled the back of the net and joined the rest of his Pirates team-mates for a dance in the corner to ensure a famous victory over their closest rivals.
However, seconds before the final whistle Mathoho picked up a second yellow card and was given his marching orders for a challenge on Lepasa.
The Buccaneers will now face Bloemfontein Celtic in the final next month with the date and venue to be confirmed in due time.
