UP policeman crushed to death in Agra

Agra, Nov 8 (UNI) In a major crime, a Uttar Pradesh policeman was crushed to death by criminals involved in illegal mining in Khairagarh area in the district on Sunday early morning.

Superintendent of police (City) Rohan Pramod confirmed that the criminals crushed police constable Sonu Kumar Choudhury under the wheels of their tractor trolley ladden with sand near Bara Nagla village.

After the incident, the criminals opened fire to scare the people who wanted to chase them.

There were around 5 to 6 tractor trolley with illegal sand coming from Rajasthan and around 7 policemen of Saiya police station led by Sub inspector Amit Kumar and when Sonu tried to stop the tractor trolley, he came under the wheels of the tractor. He died on the spot, SP added.

SP said efforts were on to nab the culprits.

The deceased police constable Sonu was a native of Aligarh and joined the state police in 2018. He was recently married.
