New Delhi, Nov 8 (UNI) Sikkim Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang on Sunday called on Minister for Development of North Eastern Region Jitendra Singh here and discussed with him, several Centrally-aided development projects in the state.
Mr Tamang also conveyed his gratitude to the Union Minister for keeping a tab on the COVID situation in the state on a day-to-day basis, as well as relief and rehabilitation work, following the heavy rainfall and floods.
During a half-an-hour meeting with the DoNER Minister, Mr Tamang submitted two proposals, including one related to Chakung, falling under one of the Aspirational districts, the DoNER Ministry said in a statement here.
He also updated Dr Singh about the heavy tourist rush in Sikkim, which had remained undeterred by the COVID-19 pandemic and continuing, even during the off-season.
