Film producer Firoz Nadiadwala's wife arrested with narcotic drugs worth around Rs 3.59 lakh

Mumbai, Nov 8 (UNI) The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) on Sunday arrested Shabana Saeed, wife of well-known film producer Firoz A Nadiadwala, and seized narcotic drugs worth around Rs 3.59 lakh from her.
Besides Nadiadwala’s wife, NCB also arrested three other drug peddlers from different places in the city and in Thane during the day.
The agency seized 717.1 gm ganja, 74.1 gm charas and 95.1 gm MD (commercial quantity), worth Rs.3.59 lakh from Nadiadwala’s home at Barkat 20, Gulmohar Cross Road, No 05, Juhu-Vile Parle Development (JVPD) scheme, Mumbai, in presence of two independent witnesses.

Saeed was issued notice under section 67 of Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act and after recording her statement, she was placed under arrest today, said the NCB official.
There was a speculation that Nadiadwala may be summoned for interrogation, but there was no confirmation from the officials.

NCB has also recovered 10 gm of ganja from another accused, Wahid A Kadir Shaikh alias Sultan.
The operation is part of ongoing investigations to unravel the nexus between Bollywood and the drugs mafia in the country’s film capital since the past three months.

Mumbai, Nov 8 (UNI) A cargo plane of Ethiopian Airlines, flying from Riyadh in Saudi Arabia to Bengaluru in southern India, was diverted due to a technical glitch and made an emergency landing at Mumbai Airport, official sources said here on Sunday.
The cargo flight, ET-690, had reportedly suffered hydraulic leakage and was diverted to Mumbai where it managed to land safely, airport sources said.
