Marathas reservation to be resolved: Rathore

Nashik, Nov 7 (UNI) Former MLA Haribhau Rathore has expressed confidence that the issue of Maratha reservation will be resolved if the Center issues an ordinance to remove the provisions of paragraph 342 (a) and sub-section 366 (26a) which are an obstacle to reservation.
He was speaking at a press conference at the Government Rest House in Nashik. He said that the OBC delegation was meeting all the leaders of the Maratha community for the reservation of the Maratha community and that a new formula in this regard would be worked out within a month and would submit a new proposal to the government accordingly. The provision of paragraph 342 (a) and subsection 366 (26a) of the 102nd Amendment made by the Center in 2017 does not provide a clear definition of the rights of the state government, which has hampered the Maratha reservation in the Supreme Court. As the issue of Maratha reservation is a matter of justice, the state government has no right to take any decision in this regard. However, he also accused some leaders of misleading the Maratha community by inciting them to agitate for political gain.
Haribhau Rathore clarified that OBCs include 12 Balutedar communities and they should get per cent reservation separately. Similarly, if the percentage of reservation is fixed by classifying other communities according to caste, then it is possible to include Maratha community in 50 per cent reservation.
