Sharjah, November 7
Deepti Sharma’s valiant innings of 43 off 40 balls was in vain as her team Trailblazers lost to Supernovas by two runs in the Women’s T20 Challenge here tonight.
Needing 10 off the final over, Deepti and Harleen Deol could manage only six runs off the first four balls before Harleen was dismissed off the fifth ball by Radha Yadav.
Both Trailblazers and Supernovas reached the final due to their superior run rate after they and the third team, Velocity, finished with one victory each.
Earlier, Chamari Atapattu’s 67 off 48 balls took Supernovas to 146/6 in 20 overs. Chamari had an opening partnership of 89 runs with Priya Punia, after which she added 29 for the second wicket with captain Harmanpreet Kaur (31 off 29 balls).
