Washington, Nov 7 (UNI) A federal judge on Friday denied a Republican lawsuit in Nevada that challenged the use of a computer software to check signatures on ballots and the alleged lack of observer access.
"I've decided that the plaintiffs have not come to the court at this point with a sufficient legal showing and a sufficient evidential basis to get what is required to obtain the extraordinary relief of a injunction... so I am going to deny the motion for temporary restraining order," Sputnik quoted US Judge Andrew Gordon as saying.
Gordon said its is the state legislature's duty, not the court, to address issues on observer access and rules.
Gordon said there is little to no evidence the machine is incorrectly verifying signatures.
Moreover, Gordon said that an observer on the plaintiff's side did not demonstrate a likelihood to succeed in arguing that he was denied required access.
Earlier on Friday, Joe Gloria, who is the Registrar of Voters at Clark County, Nevada, said there are still approximately 123,000 ballots that need to be reviewed, authenticated and tabulated in Clark County, including some 63,000 provisional ballots that will be counted by Sunday.
