55-yr-old man commits suicide in Thane

Thane, Nov 7 (UNI) A 55-year-old man from Khemani of Ulhasnagar township committed suicide by jumping into a river just for a simple reason, the Kalyan taluka police said on Saturday.

The police have registered a case of accidental death following the information given by his son the police said.

According to the police the deceased Mohandas Murli Jamai, lived with his family members in Khemani locality of the township.

His son Anil, 31 used to sell breakfast in the locality in a hand cart. This was happening daily. However it was on Thursday, in the morning the son did not not put up his shop in the locality for selling the breakfast items following which the deceased got annoyed. He that day went out of the house and went to the Kalyan Murbad road and jumped in the river at Raite village from the bridge.

His body was found the next day by the locals who intimated the police about the finding of the body.

Initially the body was not not identified but later based on the paper found from the pockets he was identified during the postmortem.

The Kalyan taluka police traced out his family members and upon inquiry with them it was learnt that the deceased was depressed as his son had not not put up the stall like others and hence he ended his life in utter duress the police said.

The local police are probing into the crime further it was stated.
