Satish elected Panchkula DBA chief

Panchkula, November 6

Satish Kadian was elected president of the Panchkula District Bar Association today.

Despite elections being held under the shadow of Covid-19, advocates in large numbers thronged the District Courts Complex in Sector 1 to elect their representatives today.

Kadian defeated his rival Sameer Sethi by a margin of 95 votes. He polled 272 votes.

Sunil Kundu was elected vice-president with 303 votes, defeating Rohit Anand who secured 147 votes.

Saurabh Sharma was elected secretary with 250 votes while his opponent Ketan Khurana polled 202 votes.

The post of treasurer was won by Mohit Sharma who got 266 votes against 180 votes of his rival Ashok Kumar.

Chief returning officer Dinesh Kumar Jangra said 89.45 per cent of the 550 electors cast their vote in the District Bar Association elections today. He said all precautions, including installation of automatic hand santiser dispensers at various spots in courts complex, were taken during the elections. — TNS
