Chandigarh, November 6

GBS Dhillon was elected as the president of the Punjab and Haryana High Court Bar Association in elections held amidst the Covid outbreak and restricted functioning of the courts.

In the results declared late this evening, Dhillon defeated former Bar president Dyal Pratap Singh Randhawa.

Vikas Malik was elected as the vice-president of the body, while Chanchal K Singla was voted as the secretary. Manjit Kaur was elected as joint secretary, while Parampreet Singh Bajwa emerged victorious for the treasurer’s post. The election was scheduled to be held in April but was delayed after the courts went into restrictive functioning mode following the Covid threat in March.
