BJP wants to polarise voters: Siddaramiah

BJP wants to polarise voters: Siddaramiah

Bengaluru, Nov 7 (UNI) Ruling BJP wants to mislead the people on recent Allahabad high court judgment by misinterpreting it for political gain, former chief minister Siddaramaiah said on Saturday

In a series of tweets Siddaramaiah said that the Court only says that conversion for the sake of inter-religious marriages is wrong, but it does not say that inter-religious marriages itself is wrong.

"BJP wants to ignite communal flames for their political gain. Love jihad is not defined in any legal document. This fact is accepted in the Parliament by BJP's Minister of State for Home Affairs. Then based on what will that party enact law?, he questioned.

He said it is unfortunate that Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa and Ministers are taking inspiration from Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh.

Karnataka is always known for its liberal and progressive ideas, Uttar Pradesh which is known as ‘Goonda Rajya’ can never be an inspiration or a model of other States. Yediyurappa has announced to enact a law to ban live jihad, this is nothing but BJP's another frivolous attempt to divert public attention from their miserable and policy failures.
