Fake FB account of SHO created

The police have booked unidentified persons for creating a fake account of Phase 1 SHO Manphool Singh on Facebook and seeking money on various pretexts. A case under Section 420 of the IPC and the IT Act has been registered at the Phase 1 police station.

Special teams have been formed to nab the culprit. The miscreants uploaded Manphool’s photos on the fake account and sent messages to his acquaintances, seeking money saying that he was in dire need of money. Manphool has written to the social networking site to block the fake account.

“I have apprised the senior officials of the fake account and the police are investigating the matter,” he said. — TNS
