72 test +ve in Ludhiana district, no death reported

Ludhiana, November 6

As many as 72 people tested Covid positive while no death was reported today. The number of patients on ventilator support has decreased considerably. Today, nine people were on ventilator support out of which four belonged to Ludhiana and five to other districts.

Out of those, who tested positive today, 29 were referred from flu corners, 28 from various OPDs, seven people were contacts of positive persons, one was international traveller, one a pre-operative case, one pregnant woman and tracing of five people was still going on.

The Ludhiana Deputy Commissioner, Varinder Sharma, said 72 persons from the Ludhiana district had tested positive for the Covid-19 in the last 24 hours.

The total number of Covid patients related to Ludhiana was 20,657, he added. Till date, 47,443 persons were kept under home quarantine in the district, he said. At present, their number was 1,068, he added. As many as 75 persons were home quarantined today, he said.

“Whenever the district administration or the Health Department finds any positive or suspected Covid case, his/her sample is immediately sent for testing,” he added.

31 contract dengue

As many as 31 cases of dengue were detected in the city today. The total number of dengue cases in the district has gone up to 1,269. Friday is observer as Dry Day by the Health Department. Under the drive, various places were checked for mosquito breeding, including Government Primary School, Haibowal Kalan, Government High School, Chuharpur Road, Shimlapuri police station, Punjab and Sind Bank, Kitchlu Nagar, and Dal Bazaar. Larave was found at seven places, which were destroyed on the spot.
