Bahujan Samaj Party chief Mayawati has opposed the action taken against stubble burning farmers in Uttar Pradesh. Earlier, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath had directed the officials to ensure that there is no misconduct or harassment of farmers in the process of burning stubble.

Mayawati tweeted on Saturday, "Extreme harassment of the oppression of farmers, especially under the guise of burning stubble here, in Uttar Pradesh's pollution." Whereas before taking any action in this matter, there is also a need to make them aware and provide the necessary assistance. This is the demand of the BSP.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath had said on Friday that farmers should be constantly made aware of the ill effects of pollution caused by burning stubble. He directed the Agriculture Department to organize awareness programs for farmers in this regard. According to a government statement, he said that it should also be ensured that there is no misconduct or harassment of farmers on the action of stubble burning.
