The Central Government told the Bombay High Court that there is no dearth in the existing legal framework for regulation on content being circulated in electronic media. Adequate mechanisms exist for this.

The Central Government has given this reply on the PIL to the court seeking to curb the media coverage in the high profile case, regarding the recent media reporting in the death of actor Sushant Singh Rajput.

Additional Solicitor General Anil Singh, appearing for the Center, told the bench that adequate rules, including the self-regulation mechanism, are in place for the entire media including TV channels.
