A Health Services Directorate bulletin issued tonight pegged the active cases at 7,676. Bhopal continued to have the dubious distinction of spawning the highest 179 new instances, Indore 74, Gwalior 55, Sagar 37, Jabalpur 26, Rajgarh 20, Rewa 19, Betul and Satna 18 each, Sheopur 17, Shahdol 16, Vidisha and Ratlam 15 each, Khargone 14, Harda 12, Ujjain nine, etc. An encouraging fact is that not a solitary fresh patient came to light in Burhanpur and Alirajpur districts.
The silver lining is that 1,64,923 individuals recuperated; 856 of them on this very day.

“The delay is owing to lack of consensus on seasonal water sharing between our state and Uttar Pradesh. We had concurred vis-à-vis supplying 700 million cubic metres for rabi crops and domestic purposes to the neighbouring state in non-monsoon months. In this regard, our stand will be unambiguously placed before the Centre. Due to seamless development of Madhya Pradesh, irrigation facility shall be extended by 2 lakh hectares this year. A special feature is that – for the first time – water will be provided through pipeline for 68,000 ha,” the senior politician was officially quoted as saying while chairing a meeting at Mantralaya.
