Sterilisation of stray dogs’ to resume in Ludhiana city

Ludhiana, November 6

Days after stray dogs attacked and badly injured an eight-year-old child in the city, Mayor Balkar Singh Sandhu ordered the contractor concerned to resume the sterilisation project of the stray dogs.

Sandhu pulled up the contractor of Animal Birth Control (ABC) Centre of the MC and directed him to ensure the sterilisation of the dogs.

Sandhu today inspected the ABC Centre at Haibowal and directed contractor to start catching dogs from Saturday and ensure their sterilisation. As senior veterinary officer Dr Harbans Dhalla is on leave since November 1, the MC’s health officer Vipul Malhotra has been given the additional charge of the project. — TNS
