COVID-19 : At 1,26,480 new cases, US sets new record for single day hike

Washington, Nov 7 (UNI) The United States, recorded a whopping 126,480 new coronavirus cases over the past 24 hours, in the process setting a new record as far as single day cases are conserned, reported the Johns Hopkins University on Saturday.

This latest figure exceeds the record set yesterday, when over 121,000 new cases were recorded.

With the addition of these new cases, US's cumalative total of COVID-19 cases has now gone past 9.7 million.

The past 24 hours also saw 1,146 people succumb to the disease, which constitutes a staggering death toll of 236,099 fatalities.
