Girls rescued from trafficking will be skilled & linked with jobs: CM

Ranchi, Nov 7 (UNI) Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren on Saturday said that the state government would be enhancing the skills of the girls who would be rescued from trafficking and would be linked with jobs.

Interacting with a group of girls who had been rescued from Delhi and brought to the capital, he said that it was really unfortunate that girls from the state are going outside to work as maids.

He said that the government was worried about the issue and has also taken cognisance over the matter. He said that the girls have been provided nurses training and linked with jobs who are now working in hospitals across the country and serving humanity.

The Chief Minister said that the government has taken a pledge that the girls who would be protected from the traffickers would be linked with jobs after enhancing their skills. He assured the girls that they need not be worried as their 'elder brother' was in power in the state and Jharkhand was moving ahead on the path of women empowerment.

Hemant Soren said that work would be done to make these girls stand on their feet and any decision by the state government would be taken after looking at the interests of the girls. He announced that till the time these girls become adults they would be provided Rs 2,000 while those who are above 18 they would be linked with jobs.

Those present on the occasion also included Rajmahal MP Vijay Hansda, MLA Mathura Mahto and others.
