Six-year-old Akshaj Tripathi, the resident of Chopra village in Agastyamuni block in Rudraprayag, Uttarakhand, is popularly known as Junior Bumrah on social media these days. Like Jasprit Bumrah, the fast bowler of the Indian cricket team, Akshay's style of bowling the exact yorker ball with bowling action is getting much appreciation from the people.
Over 81 lakh people have watched the video of the bowling of the youngest player on social media. The special thing is that former England wicketkeeper/batsman and coach Paul Andrew Nixon have also commented positively on the video. He has talked about sharing some more videos on social media about Akshaj's bowling action and running.
A resident of Chopra village of Agastyamuni and residing in Dehradun, Dwarka Prasad Tripathi, and Rekha Dangwal Tripathi's son Akshaj Tripathi are making their identity in the name of Junior Bumrah. A week ago, DP Tripathi made a 40-second video while bowling in the courtyard of the house, in which Akshay bowls with Jaspreet Bumrah's action while Yarker continues to hit the single stump off the ball.
The video was posted by the father on his Facebook page on social media, which has been viewed by over 4.4 million people (more than 44 lakh). Not only this, this video was posted on the Instagram platform by a fan on the CrickCreditor page, which has so far watched by 3.7 million (37 lakh) people.
His father Dwarka Prasad Tripathi, who is studying in class 2 at Shikshankur School in Dehradun, is still teaching the nuances of cricket at home. Akshata practices bowling for about one hour each day.
Discussions will be held with Uttarakhand Cricket Control Board and BCCI to give state and national level bowling coaching to the young budding player.
