GURUGRAM: The district magistrate on Thursday designated eight spots across the district where bursting of crackers will be allowed from 8pm to 10pm on the day of Diwali. Bursting of crackers won’t be allowed at any place apart from these eight designated spots. The order also states that bursting of crackers won’t be allowed before and after Diwali.
The order issued by district magistrate Amit Khatri on Thursday reads, “Bursting of crackers to be carried out only at designated places in Gurugram on 14-11-2020 only from 8pm to 10pm and it is prohibited on other days.”
Moreover, only green crackers will be allowed during the two-hour window on Diwali. The eight spots include Sector 29 HUDA ground in Gurugram, Beri wala bagh near Mini Secretariat, HUDA Ground in Sector 5, Devi Lal Stadium in Sohna, HUDA Sector 1 in Pataudi, Sector 47 City Centre near Bakhtawar Chowk, open space near Aggarwal Dharamshala in Haily Mandi and Purana Ramlila Ground in Farukh Nagar.
The order will be into effect till November 15. In case any violation is found, the station house officer (SHO) of the concerned police Station shall be held personally liable for such violation and this would amount to committing contempt of court. “Any person contravening this order shall be punishable under section 188 of IPC abd rge commissioner of police shall implement the order,” it reads.
