KALYAN: A man and his wife have been arrested by cops for throwing acid on their neighbours at Anand Nagar slum situated near Metro Mall in Kalyan (East) on Thursday.
The accused identified as Tinku Mandal and his wife Renu Mandal were arrested on a complaint by Mehjabin Momin, a victim.
According to police, both Momin and Mandal families are neighbours and Momin family have a hut in same the locality which Tinku wanted to purchase which resulted in to dispute.
On Thursday afternoon, the families had another dispute during which Mehjabin along with her husband went into the house of accused.
Sahurao Salve, senior police inspector of Kolsewadi police station said, "Seeing the dispute, neighbours from the locality came to calm the things but the accused who had kept sulphuric acid at home, as they were involve in tatoo business, threw it on Mehjabin and others." Salve further said, "In the acid attack one person has suffered 15% burn injuries while others have suffered minor burn injuries."
