November 6th, Bengaluru: Employment and jobs have taken a strong hit in the wake of pandemic. At a time when job and employability forecast is headed south, Awign, India’s #1 work fulfillment platform, is geared up to launch the Great Indian Job Fest ’20 (GIJF ’20) with 30,000 flexible positions. A first of its kind initiative, the tech-backed job fest is scheduled to run between November 7th and 17th. The virtual job fest is expected to bring 30,000 flexible positions from Awign’s varied lines of businesses like last mile delivery, auditing, new business development, online proctoring, tele-calling and digital gigs, to keep India at work.

Sarthak Annanya, Co-founder & CEO, Awign highlights, “Awign aims to create 500 million flexible positions in the next one year and Great Indian Job Fest ’20 is one of the initiatives to help achieve that. Using our AI driven platform, we will be able confirm interviews for these many candidates in one click. The way our process and platform is structured, we aim to match and finalize jobs for them in a matter of hours.”

The pandemic brought to focus the importance of a sustainable gig economy, essential for businesses who can hire need-based staff and keep a check on their overheads. Commenting on the number of applicants, Sarthak adds, “We expect to receive 80,000+ number of applications considering this is the first year of GIJF. In cases where some applicants are unable to secure a job during the fest days, we will add them in our database and keep the search ON, based on his/her profile.”

The virtual fest will cover the end-to-end digital job cycle, right from applying, to getting hired, to getting paid, offering a single interface and easy experience for the candidate participating in the fest. The available flexible positions will be based on the candidate's location, skillset, time availability and past experience with an average salary range of INR 12,000-25,000/month.

The only requirement is a basic smartphone with uninterrupted internet connection. Once registered, the candidates will be profiled for matching work, attend online & telephonic interviews, undergo work-specific training after selection.; The qualified candidates will then start work and get paid, all via the Awign app. They will receive continuous guidance from mentors throughout their work along with access to a 24x7 chat/call support helpline.

Awign has partnered with businesses from industries like edtech, hospitality, ecommerce, mobility, IT, BFSI to fintech and real estate to name a few. The biggest advantage that Awign offers them is high quality and time-bound work fulfillment where clients are billed only on deliverables.

Even as the pandemic effect lingers on, festive demand has resulted in a drop in open, flexible positions. These drops are expected to improve as positions up in last mile delivery, auditing, new business development, online proctoring, tele-calling and digital gigs in the new normal.
