Around 5 missing, one body recovered in Bhagalpur boat mishap

Bhagalpur, Nov 5 (UNI) Over five people were missing while one body was recovered in boat mishap that took place in River Ganga near Tintanga village under Gopalpur police station in the district on Thursday.
District Magistrate Pranav Kumar said here that nearly 40 people were crossing the river to reach the other side for agricultural purposes.
The people had boarded the boat at Darshan Manjhi bank of the river near Tintanga village.
He said that the boat capsized mid stream due to overloading.
He added that some people swam to safety. After hearing the shouting, the local rushed to the spot and fished out the body of a woman, who was identified as Sunaina Devi (35) of Tintanga village.
He said that five people namely Sita Devi (30), Ramvir Kumar (10), Bindi Devi ( 45), Kaushila Kumari ( 18) and Gita Devi ( 23) were still missing.
The search operation, taken up soon after the accident under the supervision of the senior authorities, was suspended due to the darkness. The divers and two teams of state disaster response force ( SDRF) would resume the search operation on Friday to trace the missing persons.
