Kerala's LSG election laid out in 3 phases

Thiruvananthapuram, Nov 6 (UNI) Local Self Government (LSG) election in the State will be held in three stages on December 8, 10 and 14 under strict COVID protocol, Kerala State Election Commissioner (SEC) V Bhaskaran announced on Friday
Addressing a press conference here, the SEC said polls will be held in Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha and Idukki districts on December 8.
In the second stage, elections will be held in Kottayam, Ernakulam, Thrissur, Palakkad and Wayanad districts on December 10.
In the third phase, the election will be held in Kasaragod, Kannur, Kozhikode and Malappuram districts on December 14.
The counting of votes will be held on December 16. The election notification will be issued on November 12. The new administration will take charge by December 31.
Due to the COVID pandemic, the election was postponed from November to December. About 2.71 crore voters will exercise their franchise to elect their candidates from 1,199 local bodies. The last date for filing nomination will be on November 19. The nominations will be scrutinized on November 20 and candidates can withdraw their nominations till November 23.
