Today is the second day of Union Home Minister Amit Shah's visit to West Bengal. On Friday, Shah will go to the Dakshineswar temple to worship at 10 am. In the afternoon he will hold an organizational meeting with the Bengal unit. After this, the party workers of the Matua community in Kolkata will have dinner. The people of the Matua community came to West Bengal as refugees from Bangladesh. The population of this community in Bengal is more than 70 lakhs.
Earlier on Thursday, Shah started his Bengal tour by paying floral tributes to Lord Birsa Munda. He then ate food at a tribal activist's home in Bankura and held meetings with BJP workers. During this, he attacked the Mamata Banerjee government fiercely. He claimed to form the BJP government in the state with two-thirds of the votes.
