People in Kupwara village stage dharna in Srinagar for basic facilities

Srinagar, Nov 6 (UNI) About a dozen residents of a far flung village in the frontier district of Kupwara in north Kashmir on Friday staged a dharna alleging that their area lack even basic facilities of life.
The residents had come from village Dardpora, Lolab, in Kupwara to draw the attention of the administration to their plight.
We do not have any good roads, electricity, clean water to drink and health care facilities, they alleged.
They said despite repeated assurance, the area has no play ground for youth to play games.
We just demand justice, they said , adding that they had to travel over 100 km to reach here to highlight their problems and to draw the attention of the Lt Governor administration. Our protest or dharna in Lolab has failed to move the administration, they alleged and demanded water, power and health facilities.
Even after more than seven decades of independence we do not have the basic facilities available in our area, they said.
