PUNE: Pimpri Chinchwad crime branch on Friday arrested three men from Sinnar in Nashik district, who were on the run after hacking a 27-year-old man to death at Indori village near Talegaon Dabhade on late Wednesday night.
The crime branch team led by assistant inspector Ram Gomare chased the suspects Devendra Jadhav (23), Mayur Shinde (21) and Shubham Bharkar (21), about 175km till Sinnar and nabbed them.
During the questioning the trio admitted that they murdered their friend Gurudas Telang following an year-old quarrel, Gomare said.
He said that on Thursday around 10pm when Telang was returning home on his motorcycle, the trio had stopped him and assaulted him with the sharp weapons. Telang was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead by the doctors. His brother had suspected involvement of Telang's three friends in the murder, the officer said.
Gomare said that the technical investigation revealed that the trio was heading towards Nashik. "We chased them and arrested them from Sinnar. They revealed that they were going to Nashik to take shelter at one of their friends' house," Gomare said.
