Akshay keeps lead after great home run

Chandigarh, November 5

Chandigarh’s Akshay Sharma continued his blazing run of form, following his first-round 64 with a 6-under 66 in the second round today to lead by three strokes at the PGTI Players Championship, being played at Chandigarh Golf Club and Panchkula Golf Club. Caddie-turned-pro Sharma had shot 64 in the first round at Panchkula, and today the 30-year-old made merry in familiar conditions at the Chandigarh Golf Club with a 66, his second straight bogey-free round.

Another Chandigarh golfer, Karandeep Kochhar, shot the day’s best score of a 7-under 65 to end the day at tied-2nd at 133. — TNS
