Amit Shah offers prayers at Dakshineswar Kali Temple

Kolkata, Nov 06 (UNI) Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Friday visited Dakshineswar Temple and paid obeisance to Goddess Kali.
Mr Shah is on a two-day visit to Bengal ahead of 2021 Assembly election to take stock of the party’s organisational matters.
Yesterday, Mr Shah said in Bankura that the BJP would emerge victorious with two-thirds majority in the 2021 assembly polls and assured the return of the glorious past of West Bengal under the leadership of Prime minister Narendra Modi.
"I can see that the people are unhappy with the present government for not implementing
many central schemes for farmers, tribal people and even for the common masses and now they are
very much agitated and seeking a paribartan (change of guard) in West Bengal," Mr Shah said.
Mr Shah said the death knell of the TMC government has been already sounded because of "partisan policy and misrule" and predicted that the BJP would emerge victorious with 2/3rd majority in the 294-seat of Bengal legislative assembly.
The Union home minister also called upon the people to elect a BJP government in West Bengal for greater interest of the state and its economy, employment generation and poverty alleviation across all sections.
Besides, the state of West Bengal is strategically important for the country and it needed to be safeguarded around its international borders, he said.

Mr Shah said it was very unfortunate that the Mamata Banrjee government was not implementing many central schemes for farmers, adivasis and even for the common masses, fearing erosion of her vote bank if poor and needy people benefit from them.
"Mamata Ji, why are you not implementing many central schemes, including Ayusman Bharat, and I say please implement them and then the people will think again for you during elections," Mr Shah said.
