Kerala HC extends stay on trial in actress attack case

Kochi, Nov 06 (UNI) The stay imposed on the trial of the actress attack case was on Friday extended until November 16 as the office of Director General of Prosecution was closed due to Covid transmission.
The petition filed by the actress and the prosecution regarding changing the court is under consideration of the court.
Director General of Prosecution Manjeri Sreedharan Nair was tested positive for Covid-19. Hence the documents pertaining to the case will have to be disinfected.
The government requested the court for an extension in this context. The court had issued an interim order to stop the trial procedure on the petition of the actress until Friday. The court has now extended this order.
The actress had complained that the trial court had shown partiality in its interventions and that many statements and facts related to the case were not recorded by the court.
