Ranchi, Nov 6 (UNI) Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren has written to the Chairman of National Medical Council (NMC) urging him to reconsider the decision to stop fresh admission of medical students to the three newly established medical colleges in the state.
After the NEET results, admissions for the 2020-21 academic session has commenced.
However, the NMC has directed not to take fresh admissions in the new medical colleges of the state in Dumka, Palamu and Hazaribagh citing inadequate infrastructure and faculty members.
An official release issued here on Friday said the Chief Minister has written to the NMC that some work in these medical colleges could not be completed due to lockdown but the state government is committed to fulfill the infrastructure requirements as per the norms of the council and urged it to consider the situation so that hopes of the deserving students of the tribal dominated state are not dashed.
