Steve Kornacki's election coverage is quickly making him a Twitter legend
Steve Kornacki is fast becoming Twitter's hero.
NBC News and MSNBC's national political correspondent appears to have barely slept since Election Day on Tuesday, much like his counterparts on other networks, holding the fort in front of his touch-screen election map while furiously scribbling down notes, doing the math, and providing updates as they roll in — all somehow with the chipper enthusiasm of someone who hasn't been doing this for hours on end.

After about 18 hours of straight broadcasting, the network finally forced Kornacki to take a break — his colleague Ali Velshi reportedly told anchor Ari Melber when he took over, "We have removed him forcibly from the building … He's in a room with pillow, blankets, and warm milk." Sure, sure.
Just watch the math master in action in this clip that went viral late on Thursday.
This is incredible.
I won’t ruin it for you.
Just watch what may be Kornacki’s finest moment during this election. #TrackingKornacki pic.twitter.com/XpQTJ7M0d6— Rachid Haoues (@RachidRouis) November 6, 2020
You can't argue with that. And even while Kornacki was still refusing to go to bed in the early hours of Friday morning, Twitter was fondly embracing his dedication to covering the election (and his dress code).

*Eminem voice* Steve Kornacki, our daddy back reading map facts in snappy khakis and trapped at NBC reacting to the impact of what’s happening

Totally me. But I’m also wondering what happens to Steve Kornacki in that moment.

But aside from the bubbling thirst and admiration for Kornacki peppering your feed, most just truly wanted him to have a nap:
For the love of God, let the Kornacki boy rest

I hope Steve Kornacki gets the best nap of his life later today
— Hilary Hughes (@hilmonstah) November 4, 2020
Well, not everyone...
Having arrived at midnight to replace him, neither do I.

Has Kornacki been reading any of these tweets? It's possible, but unlikely — the guy's got work to do.
Forget grabbing sleep, there's still votes coming in in PA. I'm heading back to the studio. In the old days, there was USA Up All Night. Tonight, it'll be MSNBC Up All Night. Come on along for the ride.

If you're looking for @SteveKornacki he's back with us and at the board right now.

My attempt to give @SteveKornacki a break lasted for 10 minutes. I think he went to the bathroom, returned and told me I’m free to go to sleep. That dude is a machine #Trackingkornaki

Godspeed, Steve. It's almost naptime!
