MP winning war against COVID-19

Bhopal, Nov 5 (UNI) Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan expressed satisfaction on Thursday over the fact that the state’s novel coronavirus situation is seamlessly improving with the recovery rate attaining 94 per cent and the number of active cases declining to 7,756; official sources said.
“All preparations pertaining to the cold chain, etc should be in place for the vaccine expected in January 2021. Health functionaries (approximately four lakh in number) will be inoculated first,” the senior politician averred while reviewing the circumstances via videoconferencing at Mantralaya.

In view of Diwali and winter, special precautions and alertness are imperative, the veteran leader underlined while appealing to the populace to compulsorily wear masks, maintain social distancing, wash hands frequently besides undertaking sanitisation, etc.

“Even in the event of the slightest symptoms manifesting themselves, individuals must visit fever clinics and submit specimens for analysis, which is free of charge. Government and contracted private infirmaries have arrangements for zero-fee treatment. The combined bed capacity stands at 36,755 and there is adequate availability of beds, oxygen, etc in each district. As much as 53 per cent of sufferers are in residential quarantine and being continuously monitored through Command and Control centres. Seventeen per cent of patients are on oxygen support at hospitals,” he said.

Bhopal has the dubious distinction of spawning the highest 180 fresh instances, Indore 65, Gwalior 57 and Jabalpur 33. Maximum improvement was registered in Burhanpur and Khandwa districts where there are only seven and 25 non-passive cases respectively.

Niwari, MP, Nov 5 (UNI) National Disaster Response Force and law-enforcement personnel are still battling to rescue an approximately five-year-old boy who fell into a borewell at about 1000 hrs on Wednesday in the vicinity of Saitpura village.
Police told UNI that Prahlad Kushwaha met with the accident while playing and is stuck at a depth of roughly 60 feet.

War against COVID-19: MP’s body count rises to 2,992

Bhopal, Nov 5 (UNI) The fatality figure owing to the ‘millennium scourge’ mounted to 2,992 on Thursday in Madhya Pradesh where five fresh demises were reported even as the infected tally touched 1,74,825 with 734 more sufferers being detected during analysis of 26,445 specimens.
A Health Services Directorate bulletin issued tonight pegged the active cases at 7,766 – a figure that is providentially revealing a downward trend. An encouraging fact is that no new instance came to light in Katni and Dindori.

MP CM stresses on monitoring rice standard

Bhopal, Nov 5 (UNI) Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan made it abundantly clear on Thursday that in order to ensure supply of quality rice to ration consumers, maximum attention should be paid to its standard and uncompromising action will be initiated against manipulators, it was officially learnt.
“The milling control order must be amended in such manner that mills do not decline processing government paddy in prescribed quantity. Considering the scope of setting up such units on mandi premises, a policy ought to be drafted,” the veteran leader averred at Mantralaya while assessing procurement activity for kharif 2020-21.

More than 78 lakh ryots under MMKKY

Bhopal, Nov 5 (UNI) As many as 78,51,424 peasants of Madhya Pradesh have been earmarked for benefits under the Mukhya Mantri Kisan Kalyan Yojana and the first instalment has been disbursed to 12,45,278 thus far, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan observed on Thursday.
“Under the programme; my dispensation is to provide Rs 4,000 each annually in addition to the Rs 6,000 doled out by the Centre to small farmers. It should be ensured that no eligible agriculturist brother is left out,” the senior politician was officially quoted as saying at Mantralaya while appraising the scheme’s progress.
