The highest number of murders in Meerut and adjoining districts from June 2017 to October 2018 were shot in the chest. Money transactions and property disputes led to maximum casualties. This has been revealed in the study of the forensic team on the report of the post-mortem at the Medical College of Meerut from June 2017 to October 2018. The study also revealed that the killings of youth in the age group of 21 to 30 years are the highest.

Those injured in the deadly attacks in nearby districts including Baghpat, Bulandshahar, Hapur, Shamli, and Muzaffarnagar are referred to medical colleges or other private hospitals in Meerut. Post-mortem of the dead bodies takes place in the medical college only after the death of these people.

According to the study, from June 2017 to October 2018, post-mortem of 2226 dead bodies was done in the medical college. Of these, 227 people were killed.

When the forensic team found out the cause of 227 murders, it was revealed that 23 percent of the murders were caused by property disputes and money transactions. While 19 percent of lives were taken in anger. While 11 percent of the murders were due to family disputes, 3 percent were murdered due to being deceived in love. Of these 227 dead, 82 people were in the age group of 21 to 30 years. While 55 people were in the age group of 31 to 40 years.
