#FLASHBACKFRIDAY: Battle of the giants! When 'Thugs Of Hindostan and 'Robot 2.0 clashed at the box office

Hey, movie lovers we are back with our very first Flashback Friday from the first week of November. This month, we decided to travel back to 2018, where two iconic films came face to face at the Box office and put up a tough fight. Well, we are talking about 'Thugs Of Hindostan' and 'Robot 2.0'. YRF's one of the most ambitious film 'Thugs of Hindostan' which got released on the occasion of Diwali on 8th November 2018, had a lot riding on its shoulders and with a star cast that boasts names like Amitabh Bachchan, Aamir Khan, and Katrina Kaif. Unfortunately despite the star power, the film turned out to be a major disappointment for fans when it came to storytelling. Directed by Vijay Krishna Acharya Thugs was released over 7000 screens worldwide with absolutely no box-office competition for about three weeks. Although the film could have become a cult classic with two of the biggest stars of Hindi cinema coming together for the first time, instead, it ended up being a lesson on bad filmmaking. After the release, Mr.Perfectionist Aamir Khan came further and took the whole responsibility and said that he is ‘very sorry, hurt and upset’ for not living up to expectations in The film. The second film from 2018 is Thalaiva' Rajinikanth, Akshay Kumar, and Amy Jackson starrer 'Robot 2.0', which was made on a budget of roughly Rs 543 crores. The film which got released on 29th November 2018 was loved by the audience for two big reasons. First, of course, the unconditional and unmatchable love for everyone's favrouite Rajni Sir and secondly for its stellar CGI and special effects, the film showed the industry and fans way bigger and better things in terms of production quality.
