Banyana's COSAFA Women's Championship defence on course with emphatic win over Swaziland

Defending champions Banyana Banyana kept their defence of the COSAFA Women's Championship on course with an emphatic 5-0 win over neighbours Swaziland on Friday.

South Africa, who beat Angola 2-0 during the week were far too strong from the team from the mountain kingdom and opened the scoring as early as the 3rd minute thanks to Nomvula Kgoale.

A second goal followed in the 37th minute thanks to Sibulele Holweni as they went into the break leading 2-0.

Banyana Banyana kept their foot on the pedal in the second half, scoring three more goals thanks to a brace for Gabriela Salgado as well as a second for Kgoale.

South Africa now top Group A with six points after two wins from two matches.

Their next match in the competition is on Monday, 9 November against Comoros.
