TIRUVARUR: Residents of Thulasendrapuram - the ancestral village of vice-presidential candidate of Democratic Party Kamala Harris, have drawn rangolis in front of their homes wishing her success in the US election.
The villagers said they were waiting to hear the victory news of Kamala Harris.
The villagers performed puja at the Dharma Sasta temple on Tuesday and also served annadhanam (free food) to the people for the same cause.
Kamala Harris is the first Indian-origin Democratic Party vice-presidential candidate in the US. Thulasendrapuram is the native village of Kamala's grandfather and former Indian diplomat PV Gopalan.
The villagers installed flux banners in Thulasendrapuram after she had been announced as the vice-presidential candidate of the Democratic Party a few months ago.
