An assistant sub-inspector (ASI) Manjinder Singh has set an example of honesty and earned appreciation and honour for the district police. He found a purse lying on the roadside in Sirhind, which contained cash and documents. His seniors and the district police on the instructions of the SSP traced the owner of the purse from documents found in it, the ASI added.
The purse owner was identified as, Arshad Mohamad, a resident of Malerkotla. He was called to the SSP’s office today and his purse was handed over to him in the presence of the ASI and other officials. While appreciating efforts of the ASI the SSP said the district police were doing their duty with dedication and honesty.
Mohamad said this incident would help in changing people’s attitude towards the police. The purse contained valuable documents and he was thankful to the Fatehgarh Sahib police, Mohamad added.
