HUBBALLI: A team from Central Bureau Investigation (CBI) who are investigating murder case of zilla panchayat member Yogishgouda Goudar picked up former minister Vinay Kulkarni from his residence at Shivagiri in Dharwad on Thursday morning for questioning.
It is not yet clear whether Kulkarni has been detained or arrested. He was brought to sub-urban police station in Dharwad.
The CBI sleuths have also picked up Kulkarni's younger brother- Vijaya. He has also been kept at sub-urban police station.
Channakeshav Tingarikar, the police inspector who was investigating officer in Goudar’s murder case has also been summoned by the central probe agency.
Yogishgouda Goudar was murdered on July 15, 2016 at his gym in Dharwad. The CBI took over the probe into the case just a year ago.
It is believed that CBI is likely to pick up few more people in connection with the case.
Security at the Dharwad sub-urban station has been increased after Congress supporters and Kulkarni's followers started gathering in front of the police station.
