A 31-year-old woman was allegedly raped and murdered in Telangana. The incident came to light on Thursday when the body was the woman was found near Kollur in Tellapur Municipality, under RC, Puram Police Station in Sangareddy District.
The police identified the woman from Lambada Tribe, and a resident of Devlath Tanda.
Initial investigation has pointed, that she was allegedly raped by three people whom she was acquainted with.
Members of Lambadala Ikya Vedika— a local social group—staged a dharna before the Ramachandra Police Station, demanding immediate action against the accused.
Following a complaint from her relatives, the RC Puram Police have registered a case against three people.
The accused were identified as Madhu Nayak, Nandu Yadav, and Talluri Kutumba Reddy.
The woman, whose husband passed away a few years ago, lived alone with her two children, and was reported missing two days ago.
The Assistant Commissioner of Police of Miyapur, S Krishna Prasad, has requested the Superintendent of Patancheru Area Hospital to send a team of doctors to collect the vaginal swabs, and clothes of the victim, which will help them in further investigation.
