Amrapali Group directors Anil Sharma and Shiv Priya have been arrested by the Economic Offences Wing (EOW) of Delhi Police in two new cases of cheating. The EOW is already probing 14 other cases of similar nature against the two real estate honchos.
OP Mishra, the joint commissioner of Delhi Police’s Economic Offences Wing, has revealed that the duo has been arrested in two cases. The first case is related to a complaint filed by 169 homebuyers who had booked their 2,3 or 4 BHK flats in Amrapali Centurian Park Terrace Homes in Greater Noida. The complaint, filed in 2019, says that the Amrapali Group failed to deliver the houses as promised, and has not returned the invested money as well.
The second case is related to the Amrapali Golf Homes project, also in Greater Noida. The homebuyers have alleged that the real estate company had promised the delivery of the project by 2014, but it is still incomplete. The homebuyers have said that the delay in delivery of the project has caused them substantial financial losses.
Both the accused are already in judicial custody in connection with other cases. The Delhi Police’s Economic Offences Branch has now arrested them in two new cases.
