Kaizer Chiefs head coach Gavin Hunt bemoaned his side's inability to take their chances in front of goal in their goalless 0-0 draw with TS Galaxy in the Premiership at FNB Stadium on Wednesday.
Chiefs had less of the ball in Wednesday's encounter with only 46% possession and just two shots on target in a drab draw that has seen the Soweto giants now fail to score in three league matches.
In all competitions it doesn't make for better reading, with Chiefs having failed to score in four fixtures and suffering a heavy 3-0 defeat to Orlando Pirates in a first-leg MTN8 semi-final over the weekend.
"That's what we got," Hunt told SuperSport TV post-match. "We're going to try and get as much out of the group.
"Last season they (Kaizer Chiefs) scored 48 goals while 23 were from set-pieces and you can see why and the top goal-scorer (Samir Nurkovic) not playing.
"I think he scored half of the goals last season so there's your problem you know. We had unbelievable chances tonight you've got to be taking them.
Hunt added that his side were showing signs of improvement as they hoped to turn things around quickly to reignite the early stages of their season.
"Defensively we looked a little bit better, another clean-sheet which is something to build on and we've just got to build one step at a time while trying to give these younger ones a go.
"Obviously when the game goes a bit helter-skelter the younger ones went missing as the game grew in physicality but all-in-all in the first-half TS Galaxy were good, second-half I think we were better.
Chiefs now turn their focus to round two in the MTN8 semi-finals in a second-leg clash as they aim to overturn a 3-0 first-leg deficit in another Soweto derby against Pirates on Sunday.
Kick-off is at 15:00.
