PANAJI: In two separate raids by Goa Police, two persons have been arrested, including one foreign national, for possession of narcotic substances worth Rs 30 lakh.
The crime branch on Thursday arrested a native of Himachal Pradesh for possession of narcotic substances worth Rs 5 lakh.
Crime branch officers received a tip-off about a person involved in the narcotics trade. Crime branch SP Shobhit Saksena told TOI that on the intervening night of November 4 and 5, a team conducted a raid at a rented room in Michael Vaddo, Anjuna, and arrested a native of Kangra, HP, with 4.3kg of ganja and seven sheets of LSD paper, all worth Rs 5 lakh.
In the second raid, the anti-narcotics cell (ANC) personnel conducted a raid at a flat at Dabolwado, Chapora, and arrested one Ben Abu Ilhan, 49, an Israeli national, for being in possession of 178g of MDMA and 30g of charas at his residence.
The value of the contraband is over Rs 26 lakh. A passport, two mobiles and Rs 30,000 have been also seized from the accused.
