The Bombay High Court on Wednesday dismissed the bail pleas of Kapil and Dheeraj Wadhavan, promoters of Dewan Housing Finance Limited, accused in the Yes Bank scam. A single bench of Justice SV Kotwal reserved the verdict on his petition on 23 October. The Wadhawan brothers had claimed in the petition that the CBI probing the case did not follow the procedural requirements under the CRPC while filing the charge sheet before the CBI court.
The court reserved judgment on the petition on 23 October
Senior counsel Amit Desai, appearing for the Wadhawan brothers, had said that the CBI investigation in the current case was not completed and the court has taken cognizance of it. Therefore his client should be granted bail. Additional Solicitor General Anil Singh, appearing on behalf of the CBI, opposed the petition saying, "The CBI has followed all the procedures." If there was any change while filing the charge sheet, it happened in view of the situation in the Corona epidemic, during which the court took precautionary steps to handle the documents.
