Kolkata, Nov 05 (UNI) Local trains are being reintroduced in Bengal from Wednesday, November 11.
The decision was taken in a meeting with the Chief Secretary.
According to railway sources, 181 pairs or 362 local trains will be run.
Rail-state meeting will be held again next Monday when the standard operating procedure will be published. Time table will be published at the same time.
However, according to railway sources, the train will run according to the old timetable, not the new timetable.
The notification will be published next Tuesday. Passengers will be notified there.
According to railway sources, most of the 181 pairs of trains will run in Howrah-Sealdah division.
Fewer trains will run on the South-Eastern Railway.
However, the number of trains will be increased step by step.
For now, it has been decided that 101 trains will run in Howrah division and 228 trains will run in Sealdah division.
There will be 33 or 34 trains between Kharagpur-Howrah of South Eastern Railway.
