Tejashwi the talking point in Raghopur

Raghopur (Bihar): The polling booths in Raghopur assembly constituency, from where Mahagathbandhan’s CM face Tejashwi Prasad Yadav is in fray, witnessed long queues of voters since early morning on Tuesday.
Tejashwi is seeking re-election from Raghopur, the bastion of Yadavs. He had won the seat in 2015 and later went to become deputy CM of the state. He held the chair till CM Nitish Kumar broke ties with RJD and returned to the NDA fold. This time, he has locked horns with BJP’s Satish Kumar and LJP’s Rakesh Roshan. The constituency has 48 panchayats with at least 3.5 lakh voters. Satish had won the seat in 2010. Earlier, RJD chief Lalu Prasad and his wife Rabri Devi had also represented the seat.
Even in the diara areas of the constituency, people queued up outside polling booths to cast their votes. Elderly people and women were also seen waiting for their turn to exercise franchise.
From senior citizens to youths, the enthusiasm was there among all. At government upgraded middle school in Bishnupur Saidali village, where one can reach only after crossing two pontoon bridges over the Ganga, the turnout of voters was impressive.
Rajnish Kumar alias Guddu Yadav, a young voter at the booth, said it was Tejashwi who ensured road communication with mainland of Vaishali by constructing a pontoon bridge while he was the deputy CM of the state. “We want him to take over as CM so that he can provide jobs to us,” he said.
“Except RJD, other parties have not worked much here as they know we will not vote for them,” said another voter.
