Stock market update: BSE SmallCap index climbs over 1%; Care Rating surges 13%

NEW DELHI: S&P BSE SmallCap index was trading on a positive note at 12:42PM (IST) on Thursday.

Shares of BASF India (up 13.68 per cent), Care Rating (up 13.31 per cent), Subex (up 10.09 per cent), SML Isuzu (up 9.29 per cent) and PVR (up 8.24 per cent) were among the top gainers.

While Suzlon Energy (down 3.76 per cent), Indo Count Industries (down 3.2 per cent), Jamna Auto Inds. (down 3.11 per cent), Shree Renuka Sugars (down 2.87 per cent) and PNC Infratech (down 2.68 per cent) were the top losers in the index.

The S&P BSE SmallCap index was trading 1.43 per cent up at 15095.28 around 12:42PM.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 182.25 points at 12090.75, while the BSE Sensex was up 635.96 points at 41252.1.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 47 were trading in the green, while 3 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, PowerGrid, SBI, YES Bank and IndusInd Bank were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of SRF, Adani Gas Ltd., Berger Paints, PI Industries and ACC hit their fresh 52 week high in today's trade, while 7NR Retail Ltd., Panth Infinity Ltd., A & M Febcon Ltd., Mehai Technology Ltd., Saffron Industries Ltd., Shivansh Finserve Ltd., Pazel International Ltd., Ishaan Infrastructures & Shelters Ltd., Primuss Pipes & Tubes Ltd. and Anupam Finserv Ltd. hit fresh 52 week low in trade.
