Patna, Nov 05 (UNI) The campaign for the third and last phase of the three-phased Bihar assembly election slated for polling on November 7 in 78 assembly seats of the total 243 constituencies of the state came to an end at 18:00 hrs. today with bigwigs of various political parties trying to woo the voters in their own styles.
Campaigning for the third phase of the election was at its peak during which the leaders, candidates and supporters of all parties exploited their entire machinery to show their full strength to win as many seats as they can with an aim of being seated in the corridors of power.
The National Democratic Alliance ( NDA) had a battery of star campaigners including the Prime Minister, Union Ministers and political stalwarts whereas in the Grand Alliance Congress depended on Rahul Gandhi and Rashtriya Janta Dal ( RJD), leading the Grand Alliance banked upon its leader Tejasvi Yadav.
In their public meetings during the campaign, BJP leaders including Union Ministers made references of Ram temple, revoking of article 370 from Jammu and Kashmir, CAA and partition of the country at the time of independence. The BJP also tried to woo the voters on issues of nepotism, corruption, lawlessness that had prevailed during the erstwhile RJD the regime for 15 years since 1990 and cautioned the people that all theses maladies including Jungle Raj would return in Bihar again if Grand Alliance was voted to power. During his deliberation, Prime Minister Narendra Modi referred the RJD leader Tejasvi Prasad Yadav and Congress leader Rahul Gandhi as "Double Yuvraj", and questioned their credibility and competency. He promised to accelerate the pace of development after being voted back to power.
The Grand Alliance, however, countered the NDA government led by Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on the issues of unemployment, corruption, law and order and development.
The Lok Janshakti Party, an alliance partner of the NDA at the Centre but contesting separately in the ongoing electoral battle, its national president Chirag Paswan claiming his strong association with BJP, worked on one-point agenda of ousting Nitish Kumar from the power and kept on vociferously criticising him throughout the campaign.
President of the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen ( AIMIM) Asaduddin Owaisi also campaigned in the Muslim dominated region.
